Seasonal Tips

Do Something You’ve Always Meant To
It's a nearly universal experience: every day on your way home from work, you pass by a small art gallery, telling yourself that one day you'll stop in—but you're always in a hurry to get home. Or perhaps you've been meaning to take a few days to drive two states over to meet your new niece—and she just celebrated her second birthday. Time flies. Art galleries close. Newborn relatives head off to kindergarten. Life is busy, and resources are limited. While you might not be able to drop everything and make that long-anticipated trip to Italy this summer, you can spare a few hours to try ice skating, put some crazy highlights in your hair, or have lunch with an old friend you haven't made time for in ages. Don't wait for the perfect moment to do something you've always wanted to do. DO IT TODAY!

Feel the Love this February!

Legend has it that birds propose or marry on February 14th, a day also marking the first signs of spring in some places. The roots of Valentine's Day trace back to 269 AD with the martyrdom of Valentine of Rome, evolving through folk traditions associated with the onset of spring. Modern customs linking the day to love began in the UK, featuring the exchange of chocolate, gifts, and flowers. Amidst these traditions, we extract the powerful messages of rebirth (spring) and love.

Regardless of your relationship status, take a moment to nurture yourself and express love to yourself! Appreciate who you are, imperfections and all. Boost your confidence with these suggestions:

  1. Make a list: Jot down 10 positive things—both physical and emotional—about yourself, including compliments from others, no matter how small. Acknowledge five weaknesses; understanding your limitations is a step towards acceptance and positive change.

  2. Put some pep in your step: When confidence is low, try walking a bit briskly, maintaining good posture, making eye contact, and smiling. This simple act can make you feel empowered and leave a positive impression on those around you.

  3. Look for the best in others: Offering compliments and praise to others breaks the cycle of negativity and fosters a more positive attitude. A improved mindset will attract people to you, expanding your circle of friends and supportive peers.

  4. Take action: Tackle something you've been putting off—organize a closet, make an appointment, or call a friend. Completing even a small task will provide a sense of accomplishment.

Feel the love this February by showing love to yourself and embracing positive changes!
